Vice-Chancellor's message

Dear members of Staff, Students, and Alumni of UoC

I wish to inform you that Secretary Ministry of Education Professor Kapila Perera has informed members of the Council and Management Committee of the UoC, as of today, that the above plans made by the Ministry of Skills Development, Vocational Education, Research & Innovation through the acquisition of adjoining university land has been cancelled. Please note that as a responsible university community we will give our best academic support for the optimal functioning of the Planetarium to benefit schoolchildren from all parts of Sri Lanka.

This decision will enable us to proceed with our plans to establish the Faculty of Engineering, the open-air theatre, and the herbal garden. I also look forward to your cooperation in upscaling our university environment to maximize its utilization with discipline and care.
