Strengthening India-Lanka Academic and Cultural Relations: Deputy High Commissioner Visits University of ColomboThe University of Colombo was honoured to host His Excellency Dr Satyanjal Pandey, the Deputy High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka, who held a meeting and official discussion with Professor Indika Mahesh Karunathilake, Vice Chancellor of the University, on 15th July 2025 at the College House premises. Professor A A Azeez, Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies, was also present at the meeting.

The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation in key areas, including Information Technology, Education, Indian Culture, Cinema, and Economics, with special attention given to the implementation of collaborative projects, student exchange programmes, and joint cultural initiatives between the University of Colombo and Indian higher education institutions. This engagement reflects the University’s continued commitment to building strong international partnerships and fostering student-to-student connections between Sri Lanka and India.
