THE Asia University Rankings 2021
On 2nd June 2021, the University of Colombo was ranked 301-350 among 551 Universities in Asia by Times Higher Education World University Ranking Asia Category. Reaching this higher position in the league table during the year 2021, reflects cohesive dedication and commitment of a large group of stakeholders. This upscaled ranking, of the only metropolitan state university, reflects the concerted effort made by staff, students, and alumni, despite the multitude of challenges faced during the pandemic year.
Being perpetually conscious of data gathering and impact assessment, which reflects the quality and relevance of teaching-learning, research and development entwined with innovation and commercialization, professional development and career guidance, societal and community outreach that address the SDGs and international networking has been duly recognised.
Realtime monitoring and evaluation by all sectors of the administration and academic leads of the university in concurrence with the University Senate and the Council have paid dividends.
