Vice Chancellor meets with the members of the project consortium “Challenges of Municipal Solid Waste Management”

Members of the project consortium of the “Challenges of Municipal Solid Waste Management – Learning from Post Crisis Governance Initiatives in South Asia (MSWM)” met the Vice Chancellor Senior Professor (Chair) H.D. Karunaratne, on 17th January 2023 at the Senate Hall of the University. The delegation was led by Professor Rene Veron, a Professor of Social Geography from the University of Lausanne, Switzerland who is also the Principal Investigator of the MSWM project. The delegation consisted of academics and practitioners from IIT, Bombay; University of Lussane, Switzerland; University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Western Switzerland; Center for Environment and Development, Kerala; Center for Environment and Development, Nepal; and the Center for Integrated Urban Development, Nepal.
Senior Professor Lasantha Manawadu, the dean of the Faculty of Arts and Professor Farzana Haniffa attended the meeting, representing the Faculty of Arts.  Professor Veron made a brief presentation introducing the project and its outcomes to the Vice Chancellor. After the presentation, the Vice Chancellor engaged in a discussion with the delegation about the future expansion of collaborations.
