4th Global Animal Welfare Awards 2020
The WVA and Ceva Animal Health have announced the winners of the 2020 Global Animal Welfare Awards on 29th October 2020. This award recognizes the individuals and institutions for their outstanding work and dedication to promoting animal welfare. Dr. Tharanga Thoradeniya, Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo, Sri Lanka is recognized as one of the three veterinarians to receive this award for her role in improving animal welfare, particularly promoting welfare and ethics of research animals among varied groups through training and harmonizing. Her veterinary background and experience in the medical field as a researcher and a teacher places her in a unique position to carry forward her work on ‘one welfare’ for the betterment of both human and animal health.
