AUBRIANNA 1.0 – The International Business Day of the Department of international Business
Department of International Business of the Faculty of Management and Finance organized its flagship annual event ‘AUBRIANNA 1.0’ under the theme of ‘Empowering Audacious Global Leadership’ on Friday, the 31st March 2023. The Chief Guest of this event was the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Senior Professor (Chair) H.D. Karunaratne who was also the founder of the Department of International Business in the Faculty of Management and Finance. The Guest of Honour and the Keynote Speaker of the event was Dr Kishu Gomes, the Group Managing Director/CEO of Dreamron Group of Companies, who delivered a speech on the topic, ‘Winning leadership attributes to succeed globally’.
AUBRIANNA 1.0 was graced by the presence of several guests, including the Dean of the Faculty of Management and Finance, Professor M. P. P. Dharmadasa, the Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies, Professor A. A. Azeez, the Registrar of the University, Mr K. A. S. Edward, the Senior Student Counsellor, Dr Rajitha Silva, the Director of the International Office, Professor Sashika Manorathne, as well as the Heads of Departments, other staff members, and students of the Faculty. Additionally, there were members from the Alumni Association of the Department of International Business and corporate leaders from the country in attendance.
The highlight of the event was the Grand Finale of the case study competition, where the top 5 teams demonstrated a live role-play on the International Business case studies that were given. The “Team Millionaires,” one of the student groups, won the competition, showcasing exceptional performance over the others. Furthermore, the undergraduates of the Department of International Business entertained the audience with their extraordinary talents through various multicultural aesthetic performances.
