CSHR signs an MOU with Save the Children in Sri Lanka
The Centre for the Study of Human Rights (CSHR) signed a significant MOU with Save the Children in Sri Lanka on 17th May 2023, aimed at enhancing and strengthening the capacity of caregivers to improve the quality and accessibility of victim services for child victims of trafficking. This initiative will benefit over 200 caregiver staff members attached to national childcare institutions and shelters in Sri Lanka. As part of the strengthening process, caregivers will receive training in providing effective protection, increasing their understanding of child trafficking, and enhancing their knowledge of effective reporting. The “Strengthening Government and CSO Capacity to Combat Trafficking in Persons and Create Greater Impact” (IMPACT Project) is funded by the US Department of State’s Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons. This project is implemented in Sri Lanka by IOM in partnership with Save the Children and four Civil Society Organizations (CSOs).
