Vice-Chancellor’s message – COVID-19 Outbreak Notices | PCR testing
Dear members of staff and students,
I write to you to reassure you that the University of Colombo is observing all prescribed preventive measures to ensure that each and every one of you and the wider community remains safe and well.
Please be informed that we are in regular discussion with senior health authorities in the preventive sector as well as with the appropriate regional health officials via the University Medical Officer. Where necessary PCR testing is being performed.
The two members of staff who are known secondary contacts are in self-isolation. Their possible close contacts on university premises are also staying away from work in a responsible manner. The administration is taking all measures to minimize staff and student movement for only the very essential academic, research, and examination needs. The hostels and canteens remain functional with the requirement for our staff and students to strictly adhere to the prescribed health and safety measures.
We met with leaders of our own administrative and non-academic staff yesterday. These committed personnel pledged to reinforce on-site the best of health and safety precautions that also need to be monitored in our daily routines by forming teams.
Let us all unite as one force to ensure that our university remains safe and sound.
Kindly do not panic unnecessarily by rumors of supposed events and occurrences.
Please be watchful for any news and directives on our website that is indicative of high-risk settings on campus.
I am certain, that together as one responsible community, the UoC can remain safe and Corona free.

කාර්යමණ්ඩලයේ ආදරණීය සාමාජිකයිනි, සිසුනි ,
ඔබ හැම දෙනා ඇතුළු ප්‍රජාව සුරක්‍ෂිතව හා හොඳින් සිටින බව සහතික කිරීම සඳහා කොළඹ විශ්වවිද්‍යාලය මගින් සියලුම වැළැක්වීමේ පියවර නිරීක්ෂණය කරන බව යළි තහවුරු කරනු සදහා මම ඔබට ලියමි.
විශ්වවිද්‍යාල වෛද්‍ය නිලධාරි මගින් නිවාරණ අංශයේ ජ්‍යෙෂ්ඨ බලධාරීන් සහ අදාළ ප්‍රාදේශීය සෞඛ්‍ය නිලධාරීන් සමග අප නිරන්තරයෙන් සාකච්ඡා කරමින් සිටින බව ද කරුණාවෙන් දන්වනු කැමැත්තෙමි. අවශ්‍ය අවස්ථාවන්හි දී PCR පරීක්ෂණ සිදු කරනු ලැබේ.
ද්විතීයික සම්බන්ධතා පැවති කාර්යමණ්ඩලයේ සාමාජිකයන් දෙදෙනකු ස්වයං නිරෝධානයේ යටතේ හුදකලාව සිටින අතර විශ්වවිද්‍යාල පරිශ්‍රයේ දී ඔවුන්ගේ සමීප සම්බන්ධතා දැක්වූ අය ද වගකීමෙන් යුතුව රැකියාවෙන් බැහැරව සිටිති. අත්‍යවශ්‍ය අධ්‍යයන, පර්යේෂණ සහ විභාග අවශ්‍යතා සඳහා පමණක් කාර්ය මණ්ඩලය සහ ශිෂ්‍ය සංචලනය අවම කිරීම සඳහා පරිපාලනය සියලු ක්‍රියාමාර්ග ගනිමින් සිටී. අපේ කාර්ය මණ්ඩය සහ සිසුන් නියමිත සෞඛ්‍ය හා ආරක්ෂණ ක්‍රියාමාර්ග දැඩි ලෙස පිළිපැදිය යුතු අතර අවශ්‍යතාව මත පමණක් නේවාසිකාගාර සහ ආපනශාලා ක්‍රියාත්මක වේ.
අපි ඊයේ අපගේ පරිපාලන හා අධ්‍යයන නොවන කාර්ය මණ්ඩලයේ නායකයන් හමු වුණෙමු. එම පිරිස කැපවීමෙන් යුතුව කණ්ඩායම් පිහිටුවා ගනිමින් අපගේ දෛනික චර්යාවන් අධීක්ෂණය කරමින් හොඳම සෞඛ්‍ය හා ආරක්ෂිත පූර්වෝපායන් ස්ථානීය වශයෙන් ශක්තිමත් කිරීමට පෞද්ගලිකව පොරොන්දු වුහ.
අපගේ විශ්වවිද්‍යාලය සුරක්‍ෂිතව හා හොඳ මට්ටමක පවතින බව සහතික කිරීම සඳහා අපි සියලු දෙනාම එක ම බලවේගයක් ලෙස එක්සත් වෙමු.
ඇතැම් සිදුවීම් හා අවස්ථා පිළිබඳව පැතිරෙන කටකතාවලට අනවශ්‍ය ලෙස කලබල නොවන්න.
විශ්වවිද්‍යාල පරිශ්‍රය තුළ ඉහළ අවදානම් ඇති වටපිටාව සම්බන්ධයෙන් අපගේ වෙබ් අඩවියේ පෙන්නුම් කරන ප්‍රවෘත්ති සහ නියෝග ගැන විමසිල්ලෙන් සිටින්න.
වගකිවයුතු ප්‍රජාවක් වශයෙන් කොළඹ විශ්වවිද්‍යාලය වඩාත් ආරක්ෂිත සහ කොරෝනාවලින් තොර කලාපයක් බවට පත් කළ හැකි බව මම විශ්වාස කරමි.
