Undergraduate Research Conference – Department of Mass Media, Sri Palee Campus

Department of Mass Media, Sri Palee Campus organized an Undergraduate Research Conference on the 22nd of February 2023. The theme of the conference was “The structure and dynamics of Media and Liberal Arts”. Sub-themes of the conference were Culture and communication, New trends in Media and Liberal Arts, Media management and their challengers, Creative industry in Media and Liberal Arts, Ethics, traditions, and their practices, Technological consumption of Media and Liberal Arts, Digital Media and Networking and Media Marketing and Consumerism.
The Vice Chancellor of the University, Senior Professor (Chair) H.D. Karunaratne graced the event as the chief dignitary of the occasion. The gathering was addressed by the Rector of the Sri Palee campus Dr Prathibha Mahanamahewa, Dr Sugath Mahinda Senarath, Head of the Department of Mass Media and Chair of the conference Ms Nayana Suraweera, Lecturer of the Department of Mass Media.
Mr Amila Lokumannage, Lecturer of the Department of Mass Media, presented the proceeding book during the event. Professor Yanqiu Zhang, Deputy Dean, The Institute for a Community with Shared Future (ICSF), Communication University of China was the keynote speaker of the conference. Professor Tudor Weerasinghe delivered the Plenary Speech. There were 135 types of research published related to Media and Liberal Arts by undergraduates from four different state Universities. During the event, the vice chancellor expressed his gratitude to the organizing committee for their contribution to the research culture.
