I take great pleasure extending my heartiest congratulations to all the graduands on their remarkable achievement. it is the culmination of years of labor, dedication, and perseverance. You are achieving a greater height in your journey with a degree from the oldest and the highest ranked university in Sri Lanka. Even though I have not officially graduated from a university, years of experience and hard work for the nation as a Buddhist monk has given me wisdom that one cannot achieve easily. That is the life of a Bhikku and I wish to remind you as a part of the society you, graduands also have a part to play a big role. As the Chancellor of the University, it is my pleasure to applaud and wish all the graduands for your great achievement.
You are the future of this nation. Your academic achievements have a great responsibility building that nation for a better tomorrow. You have been educated with the hard-earned money of the taxpayers of Sri Lanka and giving back your service to your country must be your ultimate goal. Finally, I wish you all the best and trust you have the capacity and capability as the graduands to take this nation to greater heights.
