Postgraduate Convocation 2018 – Message from the Chancellor
The University of Colombo once again awards a series of Postgraduate degrees to a large number of candidates who have followed the different degree courses successfully. The Postgraduate courses in the University of Colombo have had a very special appeal to those who seek higher learning here in Sri Lanka. Initially, these courses began with a small number of candidates but a rapid popularity is now attracting a large number of even fairly elderly persons, who desire to improve their knowledge and scholarship. This could be considered a unique contribution of the Colombo University towards the nation. Keeping to its Vision “to be a centre of global excellence in education, research and stakeholder engagement to enrich human potential for the betterment of society” the University has forged ahead with ambition.
We could be proud that the University is discovering and disseminating knowledge; enhancing innovation; and promoting a culture of broad inquiry throughout and beyond the university through engagement and collaboration with the community. I thank everyone responsible for initiating this Postgraduate program, and everyone contributing to its progress. I wish the program every success and progress in the years ahead. I wish you all the best in your future endeavours
