Faculty of Indigenous Medicine Celebrates 9th Ayurveda Day
Sri Lanka celebrated the 9th Ayurveda Day in Colombo on November 1, 2024. The High Commissioner of India, H.E. Santosh Jha, inaugurated the event alongside the Vice Chancellor of the University, Senior Professor (Chair) H D Karunaratne. Present at the occasion were the Dean of the Faculty of Indigenous Medicine, Professor Pathirage Kamal Perera; the academic staff of the Faculty of Indigenous Medicine; the Director of the Indian Cultural Centre in Sri Lanka, Professor Ankuran Dutta; and several other university representatives. The celebration took place at the New Arts Theatre of the University.
This event was organized by the Indian Cultural Centre in collaboration with the Faculty of Indigenous Medicine, University of Colombo, marking their second time hosting together. It was held in partnership with the Department of Ayurveda, the Government of Sri Lanka, the Gampaha Wickramarachchi University of Indigenous Medicine, and the Faculty of Siddha Medicine at the Eastern University’s Trincomalee Campus.
