Bhutanese delegation pays a courtesy call on the Vice Chancellor, University of Colombo
Honourable Mr Jai Bir Rai, Minister of Education and Skills Development of the Royal Government of Bhutan, His Excellency Mr Rinchen Kuentsyl, Ambassador, Royal Bhutanese Embassy, Bangladesh and Mr Karma Phuntsho, Deputy Chief Programme Officer, Ministry of Education and Skills Development of the Royal Government of Bhutan made a courtesy call on the Vice Chancellor of the University of Colombo, Senior Professor (Chair) H.D. Karunaratne during his official visit to Sri Lanka on the 6th of February 2023 at the College House. The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Vidya Jyothi Professor Vajira H.W. Dissanayake, The Director of the International Office, Professor Sashika Manoratne, Registrar, Mr K.A.S. Edward, and Deputy Registrar, Faculty of Medicine, Mr H.M.W.G.P.R.A. Bandara represented the University of Colombo.
Honourable Mr Rai expressed his gratitude to the University of Colombo and especially the Faculty of Medicine for the excellent medical education offered to the Bhutanese students pursuing their M.B.B.S. degree at the Faculty of Medicine. The Vice Chancellor Professor Karunaratne underscored the vitality of the longstanding mutual understanding between the two nations and the need to seek new possibilities to collaborate with Bhutanese universities beyond medical education.
