Vidya Jyothi Professor Emeritus Eric Hamilton Karunanayake obtained his BSc degree (Chemistry special) from University of Ceylon in 1967. He obtained a Masters in Biochemistry in 1972 and PhD in 1975 from Imperial College, University of London. He joined the University of Colombo in 1980 as a lecturer in Biochemistry at the Faculty of Medicine.
