UOC Achieves Remarkable Ranking in AppliedHE Public University Ranking for Asia 2026

The University of Colombo has earned a prestigious spot among the top universities in Asia, securing a rank of 171-190 in the AppliedHE Public University Ranking for Asia 2026, while also holding the No. 1 rank in Sri Lanka.
This ranking evaluates universities across six key dimensions: Teaching & Learning (30%), Employability (10%), Community Engagement (10%), Institutional Reputation (20%), Research (20%), and Internationalisation (10%). Each of these categories plays a crucial role in determining an institution’s overall performance, and the University of Colombo’s success in these areas underscores its commitment to providing high-quality education and fostering global recognition.
The University of Colombo’s Community Engagement score of 66.3% is one of its key strengths. The University’s regional position stands at No. 184 out of 260 institutions across Asia.
