A workshop on Patent Drafting & Prosecution – An Awareness Program for University Research Community

A workshop on Patent Drafting & Prosecution – An Awareness Program for University Research Community was held at College House on the 22nd of August 2017. World Intellectual Property Organization, National IP Office of Sri Lanka and The Coordinating Secretariat for Science Technology & Research (COSTI) jointly organized this event for representatives of the faculties and institutes with the main objectives of introducing Enabling IP Environment (EIE) project to the university research community and to create awareness of basic strategies of patent search & drafting techniques. The guest speaker of the event Dr. Rohitha Jayasuriya (Patent Attorney, USA) shared his expertise in the subject whilst Mrs Suganthi Kadirgamar, Senior Attorney at Law and Prof.Ajith de Alwis Project Director (COSTI) also played an active role in engaging the audience in a discussion related to current research areas at the university.
