The Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Visits UOC
The Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Sri Lanka, Her Excellency Bonnie Horbach, paid a visit to the University of Colombo on the 20th of November 2024. She met the Vice Chancellor at College House and engaged in some discussion on the research links between the Netherlands and Sri Lanka. During her visit, the Ambassador signed the Visitor’s Book. Further, the Vice Chancellor presented Her Excellency with a souvenir of the university.
Thereafter the Ambassador attended a public lecture by Professor Wouter Veraart, Professor of Legal Philosophy at Vrije Universiteit, Amsterdam. Professor Veraart was in Sri Lanka under the auspices of the research project “Whose Law?” Addressing Injustice in the entangled histories of Sri Lanka the Netherlands and advancing the practices of provenance research”, which is a collaborative project between the University of Colombo, the Vrije Universiteit, Amsterdam, the Wereldmuseum Leiden and the Netherlands-Sri Lanka Foundation, funded by the Dutch Research Council.
