Academic & Research Collaboration Between Ocean University of Sri Lanka, IBMBB, University of Colombo, and Korea Maritime and Ocean University
A Letter of Intent to facilitate academic and research collaboration between the Ocean University of Sri Lanka, the Institute of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, and Biotechnology (IBMBB) at the University of Colombo, and Korea Maritime and Ocean University was signed on August 12th, 2024. The collaboration will primarily focus on the development of a Bachelor’s program in Marine Biotechnology and a Master of Science in Marine Biotechnology. This partnership will provide intellectual and infrastructure support, including the establishment of an advanced instrumentation laboratory as a shared facility.
The agreement was formalized in the presence of Senior Professor (Chair) H D Karunaratne, Vice Chancellor, University of Colombo, Professor Lim Sung Young, Programme Director at Korea Maritime and Ocean University, and Professor Wasantha Rathnayake, Vice Chancellor, Ocean University of Sri Lanka.
