The 14th Annual Sujata Jayawardena Memorial Oration
High Commissioner H.E. Taranjit Singh Sandhu High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka delivered the 14th Annual Sujata Jayawardena Memorial Oration on Tuesday, 3rd April 2018 at the BMICH on the topic ‘Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas : Together We Progress’ India Sri Lanka Relations in the light of India’s Neighbourhood First Policy.
The High Commissioner was escorted by Ceremonial Procession to the Hall and joined the Vice Chancellor Senior Professor Lakshman Dissanayake, President Alumni Association Mr. Rajeev Amarasuriya and Senior Professor Nayani Melagoda on the head table.
The inaugural address was by Mr. Rajeev Amarasuriya, President Alumni Association, which was followed by an address by the Vice Chancellor Senior Professor Lakshman Dissanayake. Senior Professor Nayani Melagoda then introduced the Orator, who delivered a very pertinent and interesting Oration on the said topic.
Mr. Rajeev Amarasuriya then presented the High Commissioner with the Sujata Jayawardena Memorial Plaque for having delivered the 14th Oration. The Vote of Thanks was by Deshamanya Tissa Devendra. The Master of Ceremonies was Dr. Naazima Kamardeen. The guests and invites thereafter joined for fellowship and refreshments in the foyer.
