UOC wins “Digital Story telling” at the World Science Day celebration of NSF
World science day for peace and development 2014 was held on 10th November 2014 at the main conference hall of BMICH under the theme “Quality Science Education: Ensuring a sustainable future for all”. The national Science Foundation of Sri Lanka (NSF) celebrated this day by organizing a series of competitions for students interested in Science, Nationwide. Competitions were mainly focused on the theme “Space Technology for Benefit of the Human Being”.
The winners of the Digital Story Telling Competition (USS) were;
1st Place
o Dananjaya Fernando (1st year Student – Physical Science)
o Mathematical and Astronomical Society of University of Colombo
2nd Place
o Shamal Silva (4th year Student – Chemistry special)
o Chemical Society of University of Colombo
3rd Place
o Kalindu Gayan Randika (3rd year Student-Computational Physics Special)
o Physics Society of University of Colombo
