The 5th Quality Assurance Progress Review Workshop by CQA
The Centre for Quality Assurance (CQA) conducted the 5th Quality Assurance Progress Review Workshop on January 23, 2026, at the Senate Hall. The workshop aimed to review the advancement of quality assurance practices across the campus, faculties, and institutes in accordance with the Institutional Review (IR) standards.
Professor Indika Mahesh Karunathilake, Vice-Chancellor of the University, attended the event alongside members of all Internal Quality Assurance Cells (IQACs) representing the Sri Palee Campus, faculties, and institutes. The session was led by Professor Sampath Kehelwalatenna, Director of the Centre, and Dr Darshi Thoradeniya, Deputy Director.
Participants engaged in constructive discussions on current achievements, challenges encountered, and strategies for future improvement. Special emphasis was placed on identifying areas for enhancement and strengthening quality assurance mechanisms across academic, administrative, and support services within the University. This collaborative and interactive forum provided a valuable platform for sharing experiences, while reinforcing the University of Colombo’s commitment to continuous quality improvement and excellence in higher education.
