Pakistani Educational Delegation Visits University to Explore Academic Partnerships

The University of Colombo hosted an educational delegation from Pakistan, consisting of senior education leaders, university representatives, and public-sector officials, on 23 January 2026. The visit was coordinated through the Honorary Consulate of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka in Lahore, Pakistan, to explore academic collaboration, research partnerships, educational investment, and scholarship initiatives between Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The delegation held discussions with Professor Indika Mahesh Karunathilake, Vice-Chancellor of the University; Professor Iresha Lakshman, Dean of the Faculty of Arts; Professor Nihal Hennayake, Dean of the Faculty of Management and Finance; and Professor Nalin De Silva, Head of the Department of Chemistry. Dr Iroja Caldera, Director of the International Office, also joined the meeting.
