SLUG torch reaches University of Colombo
The SLUG torch was handed over by students of the University of Visual and Performing Arts to Prof. Lakshman Dissanayake, the vice chancellor of University of Colombo. With best compliments from the vice chancellor for the victory for the University of Colombo, the SLUG torch was handed over to the president of the amalgamated club of University of Colombo.
This flame is the very first flame representing Sri Lanka University games in the SLUG history so far. The SLUG torch was ignited at Vavuniya Campus of University of Jaffna. The flame is carried by relay all the way from University of Jaffna, to it’s final destination University of Wayamba through all the universities in the island participating in Sri Lanka University Games.
The relay carrying the SLUG torch departed from University of Jaffna on 26th of August, and it was carried through Rajarata University of Sri Lanka, Eastern University of Sri Lanka, South Eastern University of Sri Lanka, Uva Wellassa University of Sri Lanka, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka, University of Ruhuna, University of Moratuwa, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, University of Visual and Performing Arts respctively, to University of Colombo yesterday evening.
The SLUG torch will be handed over to University of Kelaniya tomorrow, and then it will be carried to University of Peradeniya, and then to Wayamba University of Sri Lanka the host for 12th Sri Lanka University Games, on 1st of September.
