SIPCA Sri Lanka Uptake Forum 2 Brings Together Regional Stakeholders in Education

The SIPCA Sri Lanka Uptake Forum 2 was held on 11th May 2026 at the Faculty of Education. The event brought together academics, policymakers, and practitioners to discuss the future directions of the Scaling the Impact of a Play-Based Child-to-Child Approach (SIPCA) project.
Professor Indika Mahesh Karunathilake, Vice Chancellor of the University, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour, while Professor Narada Warnasuriya, an Emeritus Professor in Paediatrics at the University of Sri Jayawardenepura, delivered the keynote address, emphasising the importance of play-based learning and collaborative educational innovations.
The forum was further enriched by the participation of delegates from the Maldives and Pakistan, alongside officials representing various government bodies in Sri Lanka. The event fostered meaningful dialogue, sharing of regional experiences, and strengthened partnerships toward advancing the SIPCA initiative in South Asia.
