
Shri Ram College of Commerce and the University of Colombo Forge Stronger Academic Collaboration
Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), University of Delhi, India, and the University of Colombo officially entered into a collaborative partnership on 21st November 2025 at the College House premises. This partnership aims to strengthen academic and institutional ties between the two esteemed institutions. The collaboration, formalised by Professor Indika Mahesh Karunathilake, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Colombo, and Professor Simrit Kaur, Principal of SRCC, underscores their shared commitment to promoting friendly relations and advancing cooperation in areas of mutual academic and research interest. The collaboration will span five years, providing a structured framework for sustained engagement.
This initiative was led by the Faculty of Graduate Studies, Professor AA Azeez, Dean of the Faculty, and Professor R Senathiraja, Director of the Centre for Contemporary Indian Studies (CCIS). The event was also attended by Mrs KC Sanjeevani Perera, Registrar; Professor K Dissanayake, Director of Studies of the Faculty; Ms Yasodara Rajakaruna, Legal Officer; Professor Mallika Kumar, Head of the International Relations Unit of Shri Ram College of Commerce; and other delegates from the College.
This collaboration with Shri Ram College of Commerce, one of India’s leading institutions in commerce, economics, and social sciences, opens new opportunities for academic exchange, joint research, and capacity building. The partnership supports the University of Colombo’s strategic vision to enhance international engagement and foster cross-border academic excellence. and looks forward to strengthening academic ties between Sri Lanka and India through sustained cooperation.
