Rāvana-the Legend Untold (Ballet-Opera)
The University of Colombo in Collaboration with Ministry of Higher Education proudly presented the first ever ballet opera produced by a Sri Lankan university “Ravana: the legend untold”, written by a famous novelist, script writer who was an awarded for literature, Bhadraji Mahinda Jayathilaka and choreographed by Ms. Thanuja Bandula of Ranara Academy with 35 students representing all the faculties of University of Colombo as the cast. The ballet was staged for the first time on 5th January 2017 at 6.30pm. at Nelum Pokuna Theatre, Colombo 07 in presence of His Grace, Most Reverend Dr. Oswald Gomis, the Chancellor, University of Colombo and Senior Professor Lakshaman Dissanayake, Vice-Chancellor, University of Colombo.
