Public Notice - Misleading Social Media Posts about the University's Research & Development Activities

It has come to our attention that several social media posts are circulating that incorrectly use the name of the University of Colombo and contain misleading information. In order to protect the reputation of the University and to ensure public and patient safety, the University will take appropriate action against the deliberate spread of misinformation.

The general public is kindly advised to rely only on official announcements and updates regarding the University’s research and development activities, which are published exclusively through the University’s official website and verified social media pages. While a number of ongoing research projects are investigating the medicinal properties of herbal preparations, these studies have not yet reached the stages of clinical trials or regulatory approval, and therefore, such preparations cannot be regarded as registered medicines.

Patients are strongly encouraged to continue using only registered medicines prescribed by qualified medical practitioners. The University of Colombo remains firmly committed to the highest ethical and professional standards in all its research and innovation activities.

කොළඹ විශ්ව විද්‍යාලයේ නම වැරදි ලෙස භාවිතා කරමින් සහ නොමඟ යවන තොරතුරු අඩංගු සමාජ මාධ්‍ය සටහන් කිහිපයක් සංසරණය වන බව අපගේ අවධානයට ලක්ව ඇත.

විශ්ව විද්‍යාලයේ කීර්ති නාමය ආරක්ෂා කිරීම සහ මහජනතාවගේ සහ රෝගීන්ගේ ආරක්ෂාව සහතික කිරීම සඳහා, හිතාමතාම වැරදි තොරතුරු පැතිරවීමට එරෙහිව විශ්ව විද්‍යාලය සුදුසු පියවර ගනු ඇත. විශ්ව විද්‍යාලයේ නිල වෙබ් අඩවිය සහ සත්‍යාපිත සමාජ මාධ්‍ය පිටු හරහා පමණක් ප්‍රකාශයට පත් කරන ලද විශ්ව විද්‍යාලයේ පර්යේෂණ සහ සංවර්ධන ක්‍රියාකාරකම් පිළිබඳ නිල නිවේදන සහ යාවත්කාලීන කිරීම් මත පමණක් විශ්වාසය තබන ලෙස මහජනතාවට කාරුණිකව උපදෙස් දෙනු ලැබේ.

ඖෂධීය නිෂ්පාදනවල ඖෂධීය ගුණ පිළිබඳව අධ්‍යයනය කරමින් සිටින පර්යේෂණ ව්‍යාපෘති ගණනාවක් තවමත් සායනික අත්හදා බැලීම් හෝ නියාමන අනුමැතියේ අදියර කරා ළඟා වී නොමැති අතර, එබැවින් එවැනි සූදානම ලියාපදිංචි ඖෂධ ලෙස සැලකිය නොහැකිය.

සුදුසුකම් ලත් වෛද්‍ය වෘත්තිකයන් විසින් නියම කරන ලද ලියාපදිංචි ඖෂධ පමණක් භාවිතා කිරීම දිගටම කරගෙන යාමට රෝගීන් දැඩි ලෙස දිරිමත් කරනු ලැබේ. කොළඹ විශ්ව විද්‍යාලය එහි සියලුම පර්යේෂණ සහ නවෝත්පාදන ක්‍රියාකාරකම් වලදී ඉහළම සදාචාරාත්මක සහ වෘත්තීය ප්‍රමිතීන්ට දැඩි ලෙස කැපවී සිටී.

பல்கலைக்கழகத்தின் நற்பெயருக்கும் நோயாளி பாதுகாப்புக்கும் ஏற்படும் கடுமையான தாக்கத்தைக் கருத்தில் கொண்டு, தவறான தகவல்களை பரப்புவதற்கு எதிராக நாங்கள் நடவடிக்கை எடுக்க வேண்டிய கட்டாயத்தில் உள்ளோம். பல்கலைக்கழத்தின் ஆராய்ச்சி மற்றும் மேம்பாட்டு நடவடிக்கைகள் குறித்து பல்கலைக்கழத்தின் அதிகாரபூர்வ இணையத்தளம் அல்லது சமூக ஊடக பக்கம் மூலம் மத்திரேமே பொதுமக்களுக்கு அறியத்தரப்படும்.

மூலிகைத் தயாரிப்புக்களின் மருத்துவக் குணாம்சங்களை ஆராயும் பல ஆராய்ச்சிகள் இப்போது நடைபெற்று வருகின்ற நிலையில், அவை இன்னும் மருத்துவ ரீதியாக பரிசோதனை அல்லது மருத்துவ பதிவு செய்யும் கட்டத்தை எட்டவில்லை என்பதுடன், அவற்றை மருந்துகளாக கருதப்படவும் முடியாது. தகுதி வாய்ந்த மருத்துவர்களால் பரிந்துரைக்கப்பட்ட பதிவுசெய்யப்பட்ட மருந்துகளை நோயாளிகள் கடைப்பிடிக்க அறிவுறுத்தப்படுகின்றனர்.
