UOC signs an MOU with Mastercard Singapore Holding Pte. Ltd
On July 31st, 2023, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the University of Colombo and Mastercard Singapore Holding Pte. Ltd at the College House Premises. The primary objective of this MoU is to confer the Mastercard Gold Medals to exceptional graduates who have achieved the highest marks in two distinct courses. The first awardees will be those who excelled in the Contemporary Issues in Business Economics course, a course of the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Business Economics Degree Programme. The second deserving recipient will be those who achieved the highest marks in the Management Information System course of the Master of Business Administration (MBA) Degree Programme.
This distinguished recognition will be bestowed upon the deserving graduates during the annual convocation ceremony of the University, adding to the grandeur and significance of the occasion. Senior Professor (Chair) H.D. Karunaratne, the Vice Chancellor, the Dean of the Faculty of Management and Finance, Professor M.P.P. Dharmadasa, the Head of the Department of Business Economics, Professor Nihal Padmasiri and the Country Manager of Mastercard, Mr Sadun Hapugoda, along with two officials from Mastercard participated in this occasion. The collaboration between the University of Colombo and Mastercard Singapore Holding Pte. Ltd through this MoU symbolizes a profound commitment to fostering academic excellence and rewarding outstanding achievements in the realm of business economics and management information systems, further strengthening the bond between academia and industry.
