Khesar Gyalpo University of Medical Sciences of Bhutan Delegation Explores Research Collaboration

A delegation from the Faculty of Traditional Medicine, Khesar Gyalpo University of Medical Sciences of Bhutan, visited the University of Colombo on 24 April 2026. The delegation consisted of Dr Sangay Wangdi, Dean of the Faculty of Traditional Medicine; Mr Sonam Dorgi, Director of Human Resources and Strategic Planning; Associate Professor Ms Namgay Lham; and Mr Pema Gyeltshen, Administrative Officer.
The delegation had a productive discussion with Professor Indika Mahesh Karunathilake, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Colombo, Professor S M S Samarakoon, Director of the Postgraduate Institute of Indigenous Medicine, Dr Iroja Caldera, Director of the International Office and Mr Ruchira Gunarathne. The visit provided a valuable opportunity to strengthen academic collaboration and future knowledge exchange in the field of traditional medicine between the two institutions.
