International Research Conference 2015 – Faculty of Arts
The International Research Conference – Faculty of Arts, under the theme of “Changing Socio-Economic Dynamics in Sri Lanka: Contexts, Cultures and Imaginations” , was held on 03rd – 04th December 2015, with the intention of providing a valuable platform for scholars in the field of Humanities and Social Sciences to showcase their research work.
The Keynote Speaker was Professor Naren Chitty A. M. – Director, Soft Power Analysis & Resource Centre (SPARC), Macquarie University, Australia and the Guest Speaker was Associate Professor Rohan Bastin – Associate Professor of Anthropology, School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Deakin University, Australia National and international scholars were invited to submit abstracts for this conference.
The Editorial Committee for the Faculty of Arts International Research Conference 2015 invited academic staff members and postgraduate students from the fields of Humanities and Social Sciences to submit abstracts to be considered for presentation at the above Conference under the following sub-themes:
- Crises and Social Transformation
- Language as an Agent of Change in Sri Lanka
- Human-Environment Interaction: Change and Sustainability
- Historical Consciousness and Post-War Reconciliation in Sri Lanka
- Religion and Political Change in Sri Lanka
