INQAAHE and APQN 2019 Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka won the bid to host the annual INQAAHE Conference, the 15th Biennial Conference of INQAAHE and (International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education), and held it from 26th to 28th March 2019 at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall in Colombo. The conference was themed “Quality Assurance, Qualifications, and Recognition: Fostering Trust in a Globalized World”.
Based on the request made by the APQN, the 15th Annual Academic Conference of APQN (Asia Pacific Quality Network), was held from 29th to 30th March 2019, at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall in Colombo. The University Grants Commission of Sri Lanka was the main organizer for the two conferences with the active involvement of directors of Internal Quality Assurance Units of state Universities and other members of the Standing Committee on Quality Assurance of UGC. Sri Lanka attracted the attention of the international community on higher education through these two conferences. Both events presented valuable opportunities for learning, sharing experiences, and networking for academics of Sri Lankan state universities and other higher education institutions in both private and public sectors. Therefore, they marked a milestone in the upliftment of the quality assurance culture of Sri Lankan higher education institutions. Twenty-one academic staff members from the University of Colombo participated in these events.
