Indian Delegation Explores Collaboration with Ayurveda Education and Research
A delegation from India paid a courtesy visit to the faculty of Indigenous Medicine on May 4, 2024, and engaged in a discussion with the Vice Chancellor, Senior Professor (Chair) H D Karunaratne, and the Dean of the faculty, Professor Pathirage Kamal Perera at the faculty premises. All parties discussed future collaboration in undergraduate and postgraduate education and research with the respective institutes and the Faculty of Indigenous Medicine, University of Colombo.
The delegates included Professor Rabinarayan Acharya, the Director General, and Dr N. Srikanth, the Deputy Director General of the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences, Dr Manoj Nesari, an Adviser of Ayurveda from the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, Professor Tanuja Manoj Nesari, the Director of the All India Institute of Ayurveda, and Dr Geetha Krishnan, a Senior Consultant/Representative of the World Health Organization. Heads of the Departments of the faculty and senior academics also participated in the discussion.
