Inauguration of the Bachelor of Labour Management Program 2024/2025
The inauguration of the Bachelor of Labour Management (BLM) Program, conducted by the Institute of Human Resources (IHRA), took place on August 21, 2024. The BLM Degree Program is designed for individuals employed in both public and private sectors, with lectures scheduled after working hours.
The BLM program is structured as a 3-year general degree, with an option to extend to a 4-year specialized Labour Management Honors Degree. Senior Professor (Chair) H D Karunaratne, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, was the chief guest, and Professor Sagara Chandrasekara attended as the guest of honour. The event saw the participation of 215 students enrolled in both the Bachelor of Labour Management and Diploma in Labour Education programs. The inauguration was a vibrant occasion, featuring aesthetic performances such as singing, dancing, music, and drama by second-year students.
