Fudan University and University of Colombo Explore Future Collaborations
A delegation from Fudan University, China, visited the University of Colombo on 21st May 2026. Ranked #30 in the QS World University Rankings 2026 and #36 by Times Higher Education, Fudan University is among the world’s leading research universities.
The delegation comprised Dr Kui Su (Dean, International Students Office), Prof. Jiegen Zhang (Director, Pakistan Study Centre/Institute of International Studies), Dr Tianyi Xia (Vice Dean, School of Journalism), Prof. Laizhong Cai (Institute of Modern Physics), and Mr Xianrong Zhang (Head of Admission Division, International Students Office).
They met with the Vice Chancellor of the University of Colombo, Professor Indika Mahesh Karunathilake, and the Director of the International Office, Dr Iroja Caldera, to explore future partnerships, including sharing good practices in artificial intelligence, joint nuclear science research, shared academic programmes, and postgraduate scholarships for students.
