Faculty of Medicine Powers Up with New 80 kW Solar Project
The Faculty of Medicine launched its landmark 80 kW Mega Batch Solar Energy Project on June 10, 2026, marking a major milestone in institutional sustainability. Generously donated by the Mega Batch Alumni Group to their alma mater, this state-of-the-art solar system is designed to substantially reduce the faculty’s electricity expenditure, allowing vital financial resources to be redirected toward teaching, research, and student development.
The official handing-over ceremony was attended by the Hon. Minister of Environment, the Vice Chancellor, and the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, highlighting the project’s national significance. Beyond its economic relief during a challenging time for state universities, this eco-friendly initiative serves as a powerful model for environmental stewardship and showcases the profound impact a dedicated alumni community can have on driving higher education toward a greener, more resilient future.
