Abstract: The built environment plays a significant role in making a city resilient. If correct measures are applied in building our cities, we can minimise the disruptions a disaster can cause to cities. Accordingly, to make cities resilient from disasters, professionals in the construction industry will need to play a significant role. Various disciplines such as urban planning, architecture, civil engineering, and building surveying all need to make cities resilient for disasters. Accordingly, this talk introduces how various professionals should play their role in making cities resilient for disasters.
