Bob Marley, Music and Youth
University is not a mere place to engage in teaching and learning and offering a degree certificate. University must be a dynamic and reflective community which must promote the arts, leadership, multiculturalism, humanity, and personality of its all members. While a university creates and protects the classical arts through critical creations, it must be able to understand the arts of the general public. University must explore and critically analyse the popular culture of everyday people. Universities should not be limited to the arts of elite and superior culture. The Music of Bob Marley tells many things about our social life, the suffering of people, and our freedom more than just entertainment. Bob Marly has created an unbreakable landmark on popular culture and identity on youth. This program attempts to revisit the philosophy behind the song and Reggae Music of Bob Marley. We, Arts Council of Colombo University invite you to open up new studies and researches to know more about Bob Marley and his Music in the future.
