Dr Prathiba Mahanamahewa, The Rector of the Sri Palee Campus delivered a crucial awareness session on “The Prohibition of Ragging and Other Forms of Violence in Educational Institutions Act No.20 of 1998.” This presentation was recorded live on the 11th of July 2023, specifically designed for an audience comprising Proctors, Marshals, Student Counselors, and both Academic and Non-Academic staff from various Universities and Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). Dr Mahanamahewa’s comprehensive discussion aimed to shed light on the significance of this legislation in ensuring a safe and nurturing environment within educational institutions, highlighting the importance of preventing ragging and all forms of violence. This session provided a valuable platform for stakeholders to gain a deeper understanding of their roles in upholding the law and fostering a culture of respect and safety within the academic community.
