Diploma & Certificate Awards Ceremony and Inauguration of Postgraduate & Continuous Development Programs – Faculty of Medicine
The awards ceremony for Diploma and certificate programs in the Faculty of Medicine took place at Mini Auditorium 2, UCFM tower on the 14th of February 2024. This event was conducted under the patronage of the Vice Chancellor, Senior Professor (Chair) H.D. Karunaratne, and in the presence of the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Vidya Jyothi Professor Vajira Dissanayake, the acting registrar and the bursar of the university. The Assistant Registrar for general administration and the Assistant Registrar for Examinations in the Faculty, as well as the Chairperson and Convenor of the Faculty of Medicine Postgraduate Programs committee, along with relevant Program Coordinators, also participated in the event. Professor Priyanga Ranasinghe, an exceptional researcher in the Faculty, delivered the keynote address in which he shared his research experience and roadmap to building a successful research career.
33 candidates were awarded Certificates and Diplomas in recognition of their successful completion of the programs, while the inauguration ceremony marked the commencement of the seven programs commencing in January 2024. The orientation program provided a platform for new postgraduate students, actively involving them in hands-on training sessions focused on using the Learning Management System (LMS) and navigating the library’s research databases and resources.
