University of Malaya Delegation Visits University of Colombo for Staff Exchange and Institutional Collaboration

A three-member delegation from the University of Malaya (UM), Malaysia, is currently undertaking a week-long assignment at the University of Colombo. UM is ranked 58th in the QS World University Rankings 2026 and placed in the 201–250 band of the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2026. The delegation comprises Ms Nur Hafiezah Mohd Nor Peah, Partnership Manager at the International Relations Centre; Mrs Vighneshree King, Senior Assistant Registrar, Faculty of Engineering; and Mr Muhammad Norazlin, Senior Assistant Registrar, Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research & Innovation).

University of Malaya Delegation Visits University of Colombo for Staff Exchange and Institutional CollaborationOn 31st August 2026, the visiting delegation paid a courtesy call on Professor Indika Mahesh Karunathilake, Vice Chancellor of the University of Colombo, to discuss potential avenues of collaboration between the two institutions. The meeting was also attended by Dr Iroja Caldera, Director of the International Office, and Mr S M Shifar, Senior Assistant Registrar.
Ms Nur Hafiezah Mohd Nor Peah’s participation in the programme is supported through the AUA Staff Exchange Programme 2026 (AUASEP), sponsored by the Asian Universities Alliance (AUA), and she will work primarily with the International Office during her stay. The broader visit by the University of Malaya delegation has been designed to facilitate the exchange of good institutional practices and includes meetings with administrative officers, directors of several university centres, a tour of the main campus, and a visit to the Sri Palee Campus.
