Department of Performing Arts, Sri Palee Campus, Shines at the State Children’s Drama Festival 2025
The Department of Performing Arts, Sri Palee Campus, proudly celebrates the outstanding achievements of its students at the State Children’s Drama Festival 2025 (Open Category), organised by the Ministry of Cultural Affairs. The award ceremony was held on 24 July 2026 at Temple Trees.
The student theatre production, Kuda Hora, directed by Mr Sakuna Sewmina, received widespread recognition, earning the following prestigious awards:
- Best Actress – First Place: Ms Umesha Nuwani
- Best Script – Second Place: Mr Sakuna Sewmina
- Best Actress – Third Place: Ms Hansini Chamathka
- Best Actor – Third Place: Mr Kasun Chamika
- Best Production – Third Place
These accomplishments reflect the creativity, dedication, and artistic excellence of the students while reaffirming the Department’s commitment to nurturing theatre practitioners of the highest calibre.
