
Official Visit by Delegation from Bangladesh to Strengthen Urban Health Partnerships
The University of Colombo had the honour of welcoming a high-level delegation from the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development & Co-operatives of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh on June 11, 2025, as part of a training course on “Fostering City-to-City Partnership between Cities of Sri Lanka and Bangladesh for Improvements in Health Service Delivery”. The delegation included senior officials from the Local Government Division, Dhaka South City Corporation, and various municipal and health development projects in Bangladesh.
The training course is supported by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and is taking place in Colombo from June 11–15, 2025. During their visit, the delegation met with Professor Indika Mahesh Karunathilake, Vice Chancellor of the University, to discuss collaborative opportunities in urban health development, knowledge exchange, and strengthening regional partnerships for improved public service delivery.
