Training Program for Academic Sub-Wardens – HRDC
The Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC) remains dedicated to enhancing the skills and professional development of university staff. As part of this commitment, HRDC successfully conducted a specialized training program for Academic Sub-Wardens on 30th January 2025, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon at Board Room 2, Faculty of Graduate Studies.
The training program aimed to:
- Introduce the roles and responsibilities of Academic Sub-Wardens.
- Provide an understanding of the rules, regulations, and protocols governing hostel management.
- Equip participants with essential skills to handle and manage critical situations effectively.
- Create a platform for discussion and knowledge-sharing among Academic Sub-Wardens.
The session was facilitated by experienced professionals, Dr Rajitha Silva, Senior Student Counselor of the University, and Ms LDGG De Silva, Senior Assistant Registrar of Student and Staff Affairs.
The interactive session provided participants with valuable insights into their responsibilities and challenges in managing student accommodations. Dr Rajitha shared practical strategies on student counselling and conflict resolution, while Ms De Silva elaborated on administrative policies and procedures related to hostel management. The training also included real-life case studies and discussions, allowing participants to exchange experiences and best practices.
The program concluded on a high note, with participants expressing their appreciation for the knowledge gained and the engaging discussions facilitated by the resource persons. The event was conducted under the guidance of Senior Professor S P Premaratna, Director of HRDC, and was coordinated by Dr. Rajitha Silva, who played a key role in organizing and facilitating the session.
