Faculty of Science Welcomes Over 600 New Students for the 2021/2022 Intake
The inaugural ceremony for the 2021/2022 intake of the Faculty of Science was held on May 29th, 2023, at the New Arts Theatre. The event marked the beginning of a new academic year for over 600 new undergraduate students joining the faculty. The ceremony was graced by the Chief Guest, Senior Professor (Chair) HD Karunaratne, the Vice Chancellor of the University, and the welcome speech was delivered by Senior Professor Upul Sonnadara, the Dean of the Faculty of Science. The Director of the UCSC, Dr Ajantha Athukorala, and Professor Sampath Seneviratne, the Permanent Student Counselor, also addressed the gathering. The ceremony was attended by the Heads of the Departments and staff members from the Faculty of Science.
