A visit from Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, Iran
Professor Seyyed Mohammad Reza Khalili, Regional representative of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, Iran, and Mohamed Oraree Karimi, the cultural Counselor of Iran Cultural Center of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Sri Lanka visited University of Colombo on 21st July. During the visit, Professor Khalili met Professor Lakshman Dissanayake, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Colombo, and Professor Athula Ranasinghe, Dean, Faculty of Arts at the Vice Chancellor’s Office. Professor Shiroma Hadunnetti, Director, Institute of Biochemistry Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, University of Colombo, Dr. Kokila Konasinghe, Director of the International Unit of University of Colombo and Mr. M.M.M. Sabir, Head, Arabic, and Islamic Civilization Unit, Faculty of Arts also participated at the meeting. Discussions were held to explore the possibility of initiating collaborations between University of Colombo and Iranian Universities.
