
Themadhuram 2025 – A Celebration of Tamil Culture and Artistry
Themadhuram 2025, a vibrant cultural celebration that brought together tradition, creativity, and unity, was proudly presented by Tamil-speaking undergraduates in collaboration with the Arts Council and the Cultural Centre, and was held on the 11th of July 2025 at the New Arts Theatre.
The Chief Guest for the occasion was Hon. Manicavasagar Elancheleyan, Former High Court Judge, Sri Lanka. The Guest of Honour was Professor Indika Mahesh Karunathilake, Vice Chancellor of the Universtiy. The event also welcomed Senior Professor T Velnampy, Chair Professor of Accounting and Dean, Faculty of Graduate Studies, University of Jaffna, President of the Jaffna Tamil Sangam; Dr L M Kapila Bandara, Dean, Faculty of Education and Chairman of the Arts Council & Cultural Centre and Ms Rakshana Sharifudeen, Human Resource Professional, Artist, Public Speaker, Content Writer, and Researcher.
Themadhuram 2025 stood as a proud testament to the creative spirit, linguistic heritage, and cultural vibrancy of the Tamil-speaking student community at the University. The event featured performances, speeches, and artistic expressions that reflected both traditions and contemporary voices of Tamil culture. It was a meaningful occasion that celebrated cultural pride, community, and the shared commitment to artistic and intellectual enrichment across the academic community.
