The Award Ceremony for Diploma in Travel & Tourism Economics and Hotel Management
The Award Ceremony for the 9th Batch of Diploma in Travel & Tourism Economics and Hotel Management (DTTEHM) was held on 9th August 2018, starting from 4.00p.m. onwards at the New Art Theater (NAT). Thirty-two students were awarded with the certificate of successful completion of the DTTEHM Programme.
The performance of the outstanding students, who successfully completed the DTTEHM programme and displayed their new knowledge and skills gained through the DTTEHM programme to meet the industry requirements at different levels of the industry were given a special appreciation by the industry associations.
Senior Professor Lakshman Dissanayake, Vice Chancellor, University of Colombo was the Chief Guest. Professor Premakumara de Silva, Dean, Faculty of Arts, University of Colombo, Professor Rev. W. Wimalaratana Thero, Head of Department of Economics, Dr. Suranga Silva, Coordinator of the Programme and lecturers of this programme graced this award ceremony.
The DTTEHM is a multi-disciplinary one-year diploma level programme. This programme aims to provide an analytical knowledge and skills for the students through sound theoretical and conceptual understanding related to travel, tourism and hotel management by using an industry-interactive and application-oriented learning approach.
