National University of Singapore (NUS) Explores Student Learning Visit to Colombo
On 20th July 2026, Professor Sadaf Ansari, Director of Studies at Ridge View Residential College, National University of Singapore (NUS), visited the University of Colombo. NUS is among the world’s leading universities, consistently ranked in the top 10-20 globally.
Prof. Ansari held productive discussions with Professor Indika Mahesh Karunathilake, Vice Chancellor of the University of Colombo, on a proposed educational collaboration built around an NUS undergraduate student trip to Colombo in 2027. The initiative would centre on real-world sustainability challenges and outdoor learning opportunities, offering students from both universities the chance to exchange perspectives and learn directly from one another on shared topics of interest. The discussions also touched on broader areas of shared interest, including sustainability education, innovative learning, and entrepreneurship. Dr Iroja Caldera, Director of the International Office, also joined the meeting. The University of Colombo looks forward to taking this proposed initiative forward, with the International Office coordinating next steps.
