University Launches Lotus Scholarship to Support Female Undergraduates
The Lotus Scholarship was established on 12th March 2026 with the intention of providing a monthly scholarship for seven financially needy, female undergraduate students of the University of Colombo. The Scholarship was founded with the intention to empower and assist women to grow and thrive, which in turn is envisaged to not only improve their own lives, but also the wider society. The event was attended by Professor Indika Mahesh Karunathilake, Vice-Chancellor; Mrs K. C. Sanjeevani Perera, Registrar; Professor Piyanjali de Zoysa from the Faculty of Medicine; and Ms Gayani De Silva, Senior Assistant Registrar of the Student & Staff Affairs Division.
