Faculty of Management & Finance Triumphs in Inter Faculty Overall Championship 2023

The Awarding Ceremony of the Inter Faculty Freshers’ Championships 2023 took place at the New Art Theater (NAT) on the 3^rd of December 2023, celebrating the exceptional talents and achievements of freshmen across various disciplines and showcasing the university’s commitment to fostering a spirit of excellence among its newest members. The Inter Faculty Freshers’ Championships 2023, held from November 5th to December 3rd, 2023, featured the participation of over 1,500 first-year undergraduates from eight faculties, including Sri Palee Campus and the University of Colombo School of Computing. Participants engaged in 25 Men’s Events and 22 Women’s Events across 26 sports for a continuous 27-day duration.
The Awarding Ceremony, held under the patronage of the Vice Chancellor of the University, Senior Professor (Chair) H.D. Karunaratne, as the Chief Guest, featured the participation of the university’s distinguished faculty members, students, and esteemed guests, along with the Chairman of the Sports Advisory Board, Dr L. M. Kapila Bandara. The Women’s Overall Championship was won by the Faculty of Management & Finance, while the University of Colombo School of Computing (UCSC) secured the Men’s Overall Championship. With 207.5 points, the Faculty of Management & Finance clinched the Inter Faculty Overall Championship 2023, while the University of Colombo School of Computing and the Faculty of Science claimed the overall second place with 166 points and overall third place with 148 points, respectively.
